HTC U11 Plus Passes Through TENAA, Photos Show 18:9 Display

HTC’s mobile division may be losing money but the company has been working to resolve the issue over the last couple of years. Along with some assistance from Google, the company is continuing to work on and release new smartphones with a new launch event happening on November 2nd. Rumor says the company will unveil the HTC U11 Plus alongside the U11 Life, and today it looks like the U11 Plus has passed through China’s TENAA certification process.

Similar to the FCC in the United States, TENAA is an organization in China that checks and certifies devices that get sold within the county. They typically publish photos of the device on their website (if you know what you’re looking for) and a new discovery shows what is expected to be the U11 Plus from HTC. This is a device we have been hearing about for months with the codename HTC Ocean Master and it was just last month when a leak claimed to reveal its hardware specs.

If true, the HTC U11 Plus will be equipped with a 5.99″ QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Inside it is said to have the Snapdragon 835 running the show and it is to be paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, and have IP68 water resistance certification. The rumor said the back would have a 12MP camera with a fingerprint scanner underneath it, a QuickCharge 3.0, 18 Watt Rechargeable Battery, Edge Sense and USB Type-C headphones.

After brightening up the front image and adjusting the contrast that is presented to us on the TENAA website, we can see that the display does match the 18:9 aspect ratio that we had previously heard about. You can also see that bezels are smaller than on the U11, but still not fully nailing the “bezel-less” aspect other phones have adopted. As with all rumors though, details should be taken with a grain of salt but this looks like the device will be seeing HTC unveil in a couple of weeks.
