Sony Xperia XZ3 possibly leaked with dual rear cameras

Sony is one of the few smartphone OEMs that have been having difficulties making a profit over the last few years. Some chalk this up to the price that their flagships cost, while others feel it has more to do with the design not catching up with the times. A few leaked photos suggest the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ3 will once again feature Sony’s very familiar design language.

The bad thing is that Sony was being criticized for the design of their phones before we shifted to this slim bezel and notch trend that we’ve been seeing lately. So with people already thinking that about Sony’s smartphones, the regular sized chin and forehead that we’ve been used to for years is making it look even more outdated. Still, there are a lot of hardcore Sony fans out there due to their relationship with the open source community and the quality of their products, so that may not matter to their core fan base.

The first two leaked images give us a look at the front and top frame of the alleged Xperia XZ3. We can see Sony has not slimmed down the top bezel of this device, but it does look to have a nice 2.5D curve to the edges of the display. That curve continues around the frame and it looks like Sony is aiming for some sort of smooth transition from the front glass of the phone all the way around to the back glass piece. When we get around to the back we can see how they are going for a symmetrical look here.

If this leak ends up being true, we can expect the upcoming Xperia XZ3 from Sony to have a dual camera setup on the back of the phone. We tend to see smartphone OEMs placing these cameras toward the top of the phone (generally in one of the corners). Sony has aligned everything down the middle, from the two cameras to their LED lights and even the fingerprint scanner too. Hopefully, this doesn’t create a situation where the user is constantly touching the camera when feeling for the fingerprint scanner.
