Xiaomi denies existence of Mi Max 3 Pro with Snapdragon 710

With the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, rumors have been flying for months about a Pro variant. This Pro variant was set to have a Snapdragon 710, faster than the regular Snapdragon 636 in the normal variant. These rumors have necessitated a company response, and we’ve finally had it confirmed. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Pro does not exist according to the company, and will not be coming with a Snapdragon 710.

Xiaomi denies the Mi Max 3 Pro’s existence

The company took to the Chinese social media website Weibo where a representative said that there will be no such device released. When somebody asked if there really would be no such device released, they simply answered with “Yes.” It’s pretty clearcut and leaves nothing to the imagination. But that does have some exciting implications! What happened to the other Snapdragon 710 device from Xiaomi that we discovered a few months back? Codenamed comet, it’s got an OLED display and a lot of other cool features on top of that as well. Sirius, the other device we leaked, later became the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. That is the only other device from the company which runs a Snapdragon 710 as well.

Where the rumor started, nobody can say. It’s possible that the company was working on a Mi Max 3 Pro and plans were dropped, but it’s also possible it never existed in the first place. It’s also possible that we won’t see “comet” either, as companies internally test devices all the time. The Snapdragon 710 has a lot of power, and it is sad we won’t get to see it in such a unique device. Either way, it’s good that Xiaomi has put the speculation to bed. Consumers were also holding out on purchasing a new device expecting the Pro variant to appear. Announcing that there isn’t one on the way will allow them to purchase a device without fear of having “the next big thing” arrive right after. You can check out the Weibo post down below.
