Samsung: Initial Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Orders Hit the Highest-Ever for the Note Series

The PR issues Samsung went through thanks to the battery issue of the Galaxy Note 7  made a lot of people question if the company could bounce back from it. They were still able to maintain a number of their loyal customers, but it made some think twice. Analysts even felt the issue would impact sales of the Galaxy S8 and when that didn’t happen, they looked forward to the Galaxy Note 8. This week the company confirmed the initial Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders have hit the highest-ever for the Note series.

This may or may not translate to the best-selling smartphone in the Galaxy Note series, but it’s clear that initial demand is there. This makes sense too as the company’s recall process pushed out updates that prevented the Galaxy Note 7 from being charged to 100%. Not only was this an attempt at preventing more devices from catching fire, but it was a way to convince people to turn in their smartphone so they wouldn’t just continue using the device.

This resulted fans of the Galaxy Note series to either fall back to the Galaxy S8 or switch to a different smartphone entirely. Fans of the Galaxy Note series buy them because of the unique features it offers. Many have integrated its S Pen features into their daily lives. This issue is compounded when they’re so used to using the Galaxy Note smartphone at work or school as well. Some opted to go out and purchase the Galaxy Note 5 while others went went the route of importing a Galaxy Note FE.

For the most part, fans of the Galaxy Note series went without in 2017 and are eager to get their hands on the upcoming Galaxy Note 8. Samsung says that during the first 5 days the Galaxy Note 8 was put up for pre-order, it was able to bring in 2.5 times as many pre-orders as that of the Galaxy Note 7. The company says Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders reached about 650,000 Note 8 handsets over five days from about 40 countries
